Julien Gagné’s love for cycling began early, inspired by his father. He started in a bike trailer, then a trail-a-bike, and by age three, was riding on two wheels. From then on, he was hooked and never stopped riding.
As a kid, Julien joined his local mountain bike club, where he began racing and quickly found success. This led to a spot on the national team, and he competed in several World Cup events as a junior and U23 rider. Afterward, he transitioned to road cycling, drawn to longer endurance events. He raced for Continental teams and had the chance to compete in Europe.
Eventually, Julien shifted to gravel racing, finding it more enjoyable for its freedom and the chance to use his mountain biking skills again. In his first full gravel season, he won a few races and held his own against top competitors, fueling his motivation for 2025.
Outside of racing, Julien enjoys time with loved ones, relaxing in nature, and diving into sports science. He’s also passionate about drawing, music, and works as a graphic designer, helping promote cycling at his local bike shop.
Julien’s cycling journey is a mix of passion, growth, and fun, and he’s excited for what’s next in gravel racing.
